The event is dedicated to the 31st of October – the International Black Sea Day under the slogan “TOGETHER TO BLUEING THE BLACK SEA”. Representatives of different stakeholders took part in the forum such as: Ms Atanaska Nikolova – Deputy Minister of Environment and Water, Prof. Halil Ibrahim Sur - Executive Director at the Permanent Secretariat of the Commission on the Protection of the Black Sea Against Pollution, Ms Ivelina Vasileva – member of Parliament of the Republic of Bulgaria, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Environment and Water Committee, Ms Iryna Stavchuk, Ms Maia Javakhishvili and Ms Natalia Tretiakova – Commissioners for Ukraine, Georgia and the Russian Federation in the Commission on the Protection of the Black Sea Against Pollution, representatives of the World Bank, Mr Dimitar Nikolov – Mayor of Burgas Municipality, Mr Ivan Aleksiev – Mayor of Pomorie Municipality and others.
Assoc. Prof. Svetlana Zheleva, PhD – Deputy rector of “Prof. D-r Asen Zlatarov” University of Burgas and project manager of the “Cross-border Regions Collaborate for BLUE GROWTH” project presented the main objectives and activities of the project. She underlined the ambition of the University to successfully implement the project, thus positioning the region of Burgas on the EU map of marine research.
