The grant agreement for CB005.3.12.001 “Cross-border regions Collaborate for BLUE GROWTH” project was signed on October 9th, 2020 between the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works and “Prof. D-r Asen Zlatarov” University of Burgas. The project is the first strategic project funded under Interreg IPA Cross-border Cooperation Bulgaria - Turkey Programme 2014 – 2020. “Prof. D-r Asen Zlatarov” University of Burgas is partnering Trakya University in Edirne to establish BLUE GROWTH research centres in the cross-border area as an initiative for collaboration of research and scientific institutions in the field of environmental protection, reduction of pollution, sustainable management of aquatic ecosystems and effective utilization of marine and aquatic resources.

The grant agreement was signed by the Deputy minister Denitsa Nikolova and the Rector of the “Prof. D-r Asen Zlatarov” University – Prof. Magdalena Mitkova, PhD during an on-line ceremony attended by Mr Faruk Kaymakci – the Deputy Minister of external affairs and Director of EU affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Prof. Erhan Tabakoglu, PhD – the Rector of the Trakya University in Edirne, representatives of the DG “Region” in the EC.
