
In connection with the activities of the CB005.3.12.001 „Cross-border Regions Collaborate for BLUE GROWTH” (BLUE GROWTH COLLABs) project, co-funded by the Interreg – IPA CBC Bulgaria - Turkey 2014 – 2020 Programme, and on the initiative of the High School of Chemical Technology “Acad. N. D. Zelinsky”, in the period 19 – 20.09.2023 took place the “Blue Science Café” with the participation of students and teachers from the High School of Chemical Technology “Acad. Д. Zelinsky” and Profiled Natural Mathematics High School “Akad. Н. Obreshkov” - Burgas. The initiative was also attended by representatives of the academic community of the “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov” Universityof Burgas.
The event contributed to better interaction between the different educational and academic institutions in the city in the field of environmental education, provided an opportunity to carry out seawater monitoring in the field and in the renovated laboratory of “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov University”. Through a video connection in the virtual laboratory at the high school, participants observed analyses of samples taken from the Black Sea coast.
During the initiative, working teams of students solved case studies organized in three teams: the SCIENCE HOUSE, the SEA HOUSE and the NATURE HOUSE. The young people proposed attractive solutions to important topics for the ecology and sustainable development of the Black Sea region. New friendships were created in a positive and relaxed atmosphere.
