The activity of the Lab is focused on plastics and its impact on aquatic ecosystems.

Micro- and nanoplastics are recognized as an emerging threat, as well as a ecotoxic and ecological risk. The research effort is dedicated to sources and transportation routes of the plastic pollutants, their impact on aquatic ecosystems.

A series of instrumental methods are applied in the Lab to determine the indicators of monitoring and assessment of the status of the aquatic ecosystems.
