The activity of the Lab is dedicated to monitoring anthropogenic pollution of aquatic ecosystems.
Pollution of nature means entry of material substances (solid, liquid, gaseous) or energy (thermal, ionizing, electromagnetic, acoustic) which are either not characteristic of the environment or the amount of the incoming substances or energy is very much higher than the natural amount. Pollutants can entry the environment from the production and other types of peoples’ activities (household, transport, agriculture, etc.) As a result living conditions are changing, having a negative impact on both individual organisms and the structure and functioning of entire ecosystems.
The Laboratory uses a series of methods, apparatus, approaches and tools to determine the mechanics of the anthropogenic impact on aquatic ecosystems.
